Description

When I tried to follow the directions on how to change my iPod preferences: 3.You will be asked if you want to link your iPod with the current iTunes library. Make sure you click "No." What actually happened: There is no option to click "No." only to "cancel", "download purchased music", or "erase" I clicked "cancel" and the iPod started syncing. (I can't find any preference in iTunes that stops auto sync). After this short sync, nothing was lost on my iPod. Whew! iTunes still shows empty folder since i already dragged the Music folder onto desktop earlier. The next step says: 4. In the bottom right corner of iTunes there is a button with an image of an iPod. Clicking that button reveals the iPod's options. The only icon in the bottom right corner of iTunes is the eject iPod button. Now what do I do?

You go to the preferences now. It's a different version of iTunes.

If you'd like to help rewrite the instructions, let me know.
