The upcoming Harry Potter game, Hogwarts Legacy, will come on par with other contemporary RPG RTS online games in terms of embracing inclusivity. According to a Bloomberg report, players will have the option of including a feminine or masculine voice regardless of the body type when creating avatar customizations.
The report holds that this information surfaced from “people familiar with the game’s development.” There’s no official statement backing up the information. As per the report, “the people requested anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak to the press.”
Transgender inclusivity may seem trivial to modern RPG games but is significant for Hogwarts Legacy which will be launched in 2022. Why? The stride toward transgender inclusivity for the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy is in stark contrast with the transphobic views of Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling that made headlines last year.
