iTunesDB

Every iPod contains a file that contains information about all the songs on it. Senuti uses this file to quickly get the contents of the iPod.

How to attach your database file to a ticket

  1. Plug your iPod into your computer
  2. Open up Terminal.app (in the utilities folder again)
  3. Use this line of code:
    cp /Volumes/"iPod Name"/iPod_control/iTunes/iTunesDB ~/Desktop/iTunesDB

but change "iPod Name" to the name of your ipod. (Leave the "" in there, though).
  4. Paste that line of code into the Terminal, then press return.
  5. There will be a new file on your desktop named iTunesDB that looks pretty much like nothing
  6. Right click (control click) on the file and create an archive of it.
  7. There will now be a file called iTunesDB.zip on your desktop.
  8. Attach that to the ticket.

Name of your iPod

The name of your iPod is whatever it's called when you see the iPod icon on your desktop once you have it plugged in (or if you don't have disks showing up on your desktop, then go to Go->Computer in the main menu of the Finder, and the name of the iPod will be there).
