Using Senuti to rebuild iTunes
Senuti can be used not only to recover your music to rebuild your iTunes library, but those precious play counts and ratings as well that aren't stored in ID3 tags.
Making sure iTunes won't sync your iPod and erase your songs
If your hard drive failed on you and you completely reinstalled your operating system, you will be safe to continue. If you accidently erased your music from your computer and have not reinstalled your system, please read Preparing your iPod in the Quick start section to make sure your iPod is set up correctly.
Prepare iTunes
If you just reinstalled your system, you will want to launch iTunes once before rebuilding (preferably with your iPod disconnected, but if it is connected, just make sure you don't link the iPod to the iTunes library) so that you can go through all of iTunes first run dialogs. Senuti opens iTunes when it adds songs to iTunes and needs it to be in its normal state.
Rebuilding your library
Rebuilding your iTunes library is as simple as dragging the library playlist of your iPod and dropping it onto iTunes in the source list. See drag and drop songs in the Using Senuti and iTunes together section if don't know how to do this.
Note: Dragging and dropping playlists one by one is not fully supported right now in Senuti. You will end up with duplicate songs in iTunes.
