Senuti 0.50 Beta 3

Oct 9, 2007 — Whitney Young (Updated Feb 6, 2008)

The third beta of Senuti 0.50 is now available. The changes in this version include:

  • Fixed a few situations in which Senuti would crashe while copying
  • Updated to libgpod-svn (r1723) so all new iPods and iPhones should work if they are properly mounted
  • Updated japanese localization

Please see the initial blog post on the 0.50 beta for more information.

Update: 0.50 Beta 3 is no longer current.

Apologies for not emailing with my query; I don't have SMTP or webmail access on the connection I am on. If it is not too much trouble, I would appreciate it if you could tell me - when using Senuti, I am copying music from my iPod and in the copy window, the current track being copied is green, and all past tracks are red. Am I correct in understanding that the fact it is red is a negative thing, and if so, what does it mean, and how can I fix it?

Whitney Young Oct 9, 2007

It's a negative thing. Try the beta version linked in this article, and the issue will probably be fixed.

Will there be an update for iPod touch (and assume also iPhone) support?

guess there's an issue with this generation odf pod not mounting in the traditional way...?

Whitney Young Oct 11, 2007

Technically speaking, Senuti should work with them, though I've not tested it at all. At this point, you have to find a way to mount them (to enable disk use). If you can do that, then it should work. I don't have an iPhone or an iPod Touch, so I can't help figure out the process. Maybe eventually I'll run a fundraising drive and get one or the other.

Hey question- I downloaded Senuti because my PC died, taking all my music. I bought a new MacBook that I love! But I wanted my music from my ipod...so I used Senuti...it worked EXCEPT. A few of my songs are showing up in my itunes but when I try to play them i can only get the first 10 sec and then it switches to the next track. When i drag the cursor to later parts of the song, it plays so I know it's there, but why does it switch at 10 sec? I looked in the folder at some songs that worked. They all had 2 files with a 1 next to them: Band (Reprise).m4a Band (reprise) 1.m4a I even loaded a "broken" song into my shuffle and it switches at 10 sec! and i can hold down and seek to later in the song and it plays...help! Has this happened to anyone else ever? THANKS!

Attn: JV

Sorry, The answer is no. your ipod is formatted for a pc. If you plug it in to your mac and are what I call a "happy clicker" you could end up formatting your ipod and lose all your songs. Google a product that does this on a pc and do it on a friends pc then burn your songs to a disk...Not using iTunes.

Good luck

JV,

Senuti should be able to help. Check that you don't have the stop time set in iTunes. Is this with the 0.50 beta or version 0.33?

I've probably got the most stupid problem of anyone-I can't get Senuti to start. When I go to click on it, it wants to know what it should open with.. I tried iTunes-didn't work.. then I tried Internet Explorer and nothing showed up.. help?

Seem to have problems w/ the current Senuti beta package (0.50.1b6). StuffIt states the .dmg file is corrupt, while Apple Archive Utility keeps creating a package loop of duplicates from the .bz2 format to the .cpgz to the .bz2.

Can you assist?
