Hello, I really enjoyed using TuneKeys on my PowerBook, but it does not seem to work on my new Intel iMac. I try to install the pref file, but after its put into the system prefs, it says you cannot open it on this computer.

I love tunekeys, and I'm currently working on an independant project for school in which I am attempting to create a simple prefpane. The XCode documentation seems sadly lacking in coverage of this topic, so I am looking around for other resources.

I downloaded the tunekeys source code and poked around in it a bit, but I am going to need some more structured instruction before I really understand it. Therefore, I wonder if you could tell me how you learned the process, and possibly direct me to any good resources, either online or in book form.

Also, my main programming background, such as it is, is in Java. Would you reccomend learning Objective-C, or should I stick with the Java wrapper XCode provides?

ummm, hot keys are a bit of a nuisance: everybody steps all over every one else.
How about one hot key and then I type a few letters?
"namley" takes that approach. well, it has to. but that gave me the "idea".

joe, if you assigned the space bar key without any modifiers to an action in TuneKeys, then it clearly wouldn't work in other applications. Just change it to something else.

tunekeys won't let my space bar work in other programs..???

Improvement idea.... allow a key for jumping to the library (just like being able to jump to current playlist).

Evan, they is me, and me doesn't like Windows. This is also a different support page from the one you probably meant to post on.

They really need to make these programs for Windows. I really want to get music off my iPod but I don't have time to look through all the songs in a browser and fiure out which is which.

Yup. That crashed it. I'll add it to my todo list. It will have a low priority, though, since I have a lot of other things to do. Thanks for pointing it out, though.
