I get stuck on the starting up stage too. I also note that the disk image says version 2, but if you get info on the preference pane inside the disk image, it says version 1. I then install it, start it up and it tells me there's a new version? Seems to be a little confused over whether it's version 1 or 2

Oops. That was the one you were supposed to delete. The crash log is here:

Well I'm not liking the sound of these problems. Can you guys try some things for me:
delete the file at: ~/Library/Prefererences/com.ambitiouslemon.wbyoung.TuneKeys.plist, then try running again, and also, could you send me the crash log located at ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/System Preferences.crash.log? Thanks!

I have the same problem as Lars with the 2.0 version!!!!

I get the same problem as Leo. It says its starting up, but it never starts running. After a while, System Preferences just gives me an error message and shuts down. I almost blew my school presentation because of this (I luckily installed 2.0 afterwards, not prior to it), as I used Tunekeys to activate the music I did to go along with the Powerpoint presentation.

I run a 15" Powerbook with OSX Panther. The previous version of Tunekeys ran without any problems and is probably one of the most useful utilities I've ever downloaded, so it really sucks that 2.0 didn't work! Fix the problem for me, and I'll donate you something for christmas! ^_^

Leo,
There's a helper application that runs in the background. It should say that TuneKeys is starting up, then it should say that it's running. You won't see anything happen. You'll just be able to use the hot keys you set up at that point. To uninstall delete the file at:
~/Library/PreferencePanes/TuneKeys.prefPane
or
/Library/PreferencePanes/TuneKeys.prefPane
depending on where you if you installed for one user or for everyone using the computer.

Leo
when I click in the start button it starts to think showing "TuneKeys is starting up" and nothing happens
